Sherwood Scuba's SR1 Regulator
What is it? A product that Sherwood Scuba bills as the "most technologically advanced regulator" the company has produced in its 50-year history, with "superior breathing performance." The SR1 uses a pneumatically balanced second stage, with a two-piece flow-through first stage piston for optimum balance and intermediate pressure control. The first stage is environmentally sealed featuring a dry-sealed spring chamber, two high-pressure ports, five low-pressure ports on a 360-degree swivel and is compatible with a yoke or DIN attachment. The second stage contains a SMART demand lever and floating crown, which reacts to depressurization and relieves the load on the seat, extending seat life while promoting consistent performance.

Benefits to your diving: Sherwood Scuba uses some pretty strong wording to describe its latest achievement. That alone makes it worth a look. Another reason is that the second stage employs a single-adjustment point to simultaneously set opening effort and high flow performance with one motion - the need to make separate adjustments is eliminated. Aqua Lung's Slingshot Fin
What is it? A fin boasting three innovations: Power Bands, the Gear Shift, and the Mid-Foot Attachment Points. The Power Bands are silicone straps designed to capture all the energy of the downstroke (powerstroke) and then immediately snap back. The Gear Shift allows divers to shift to one of three settings to choose the speed-to-effort ratio, allowing him to go from cruising speed in tranquil waters to a forceful thrust in strong currents. The Slingshot adjusts, quickly (and underwater), to the various circumstances that can occur. The blade attaches to the foot further back on the foot pocket rather than at the toes, alleviating pressure on the front of the foot. The Slingshot comes in three colors: blue, black/silver, and red, and is available in sizes small, medium and large/extra-large.
Benefits to your diving: The Power Bands create propulsion that's efficient and helps divers save energy. The Gear Shift gives the diver complete control of power under any condition. The Mid-Foot Attachment Points reduce strain on the ankle, while allowing all the power to transmit from the leg to the fin. Spectrum Diving Equipment's
The Reeler
What is it? A dive reel made to solve the problems of line entanglement and task loading. The Reeler easily attaches to a standard D-ring on your buoyancy compensator (BC). The corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel reel is 2 3/4 inches wide, 5 inches higher, and contains 450 feet (136 m) of 135-pound (61-kg) braided Dacron test line.

Benefits to your diving: No longer do you have to hold a reel while tensioning the line, and controlling the placement of the line on the spool. Users simply wind the line in. The device also includes a "line leveler," which wraps the dive line neatly, allowing more line to be placed on the spool. The ability to attach the The Reeler to your BC frees your hands to carry other equipment like videocameras or lights.
