AKB188
Super Lightweight Roller Bag
What is it? A roller bag that meets the
goal of the Akona design team: to
develop a full-size roller bag that
weighs less than 10 pounds (4.5 kg) when
empty and still be able to carry a full
set of dive gear. What the team came up
with is what Akona calls a sleek,
low-profile design and a bag that
exceeds the group goal. It weighs only 9
pounds (4 kg). It also can hold a 7-mm
wet suit and hooded neoprene vest, both
in size XL; a buoyancy compensator,
fins, neoprene boots and dive gloves,
all in size large; a full set of
regulators with octopus and gauges, and
a mask and snorkel.

Aqua Lung's
Mikron Regulator
What is it? A regulator that Aqua Lung bills
as the smallest and lightest on the market.
The Mikron weighs diveshop

26 ounces (in the din valve version) and 31
ounces (in the yoke valve version). The
Mikron also gives divers more freedom
underwater with a new pliable braided hose
that weighs less than 5 ounces. Divers can
also optimize their breathing with Mikron's
adjustable second stage that allows the
opening effort to be modified. In the "Mini"
position, the opening effort is increased,
which is ideal for avoiding free-flows. In
the "Maxi" position, the inhalation effort
is reduced, easing the work of breathing.
The Mikron is available in two color
combinations: black/red and pink vanilla.
The pink vanilla is designed to coordinate
with Aqua Lung's new Ladies Pearl i3
buoyancy compensator (BC) and features an
even smaller Comfo-bite(r) mouthpiece.

Raptor With Split-Fin(tm) Technology
What is it? A fin that incorporates Mares'
Split-Fin(tm) and Nature's Wing(r)
technologies. The Raptor's design also
includes the Whale Tail foot pocket, which
is built to deliver maximum energy transfer
and maximum thrust and efficiency in the
Split-Fin(tm) class. The open heel foot
pocket is designed to accommodate dive boots
with a sole, and to offer adherence between
the boot and the foot pocket in order to
transfer all the force exerted by the leg to
the blade, without sacrificing yield yet
still ensuring comfort. The lower section of
the foot pocket is longer, to better
transfer power to the blade and minimize the
risk of cramping. In addition, the inside of
the foot pocket features internal ribbing to
improve fit and stiffen the sole. The ABS
buckles require one quick movement to easily
open or close them, even when wearing thick
neoprene gloves. The double-button release
prevents the buckle from accidentally
opening. The Raptor is available in four
colors: blue, red, yellow and green, and in
sizes small, regular and extra large.

Trident Watch
What is it? A sports watch that features the
company's new patent-pending illumination
technology called Never Dark(tm), which
allows the time to be easily viewed in
virtually all lighting conditions. The
technology combines the bright Swiss
Superluminova found on all Reactor watches
with long-lasting tritium gas-filled tubes.
Trident is available in five styles in
stainless steel, black nitride plated
stainless, and solid titanium, and all are
depth-tested to 660 feet (200 m).

What is it? Part of SEA&SEA's new MDX
housing series, the MDX-D300 is designed
for the Nikon D300 camera. The housing
is machined out of solid block aluminum,
giving it a more rigid body, and is
designed to fit the camera snugly,
giving it a compact and lightweight
feel. The housing is precision CNC
(computer numerical control)-machined,
and comes with a body cap, hex wrench,
CR2032 lithium battery and attachment
tool.
