30 Is There a Rebreather in Your Future?
Rebreathers are the chosen scuba of the tech generation and are starting to make inroads into recreational diving as well. The benefits of increased bottom time, minimal bubbles and the promise of a new diving experience are among the attractions. But balancing the equation are a few drawbacks. First, these are complex devices, less forgiving than open-circuit scuba, requiring special training and maintenance by the user. The author takes a look at what it's like to switch from open-circuit scuba to a more sophisticated rebreather system.
