You probably remember your first scuba instructor very well. You listened intently to the instructor's classroom explanations, eagerly assimilated every diving tip offered and relied on his or her knowledge and sensitivity to get you through your rough spots during training. By the time you earned your certification card, you had developed trust and respect for this individual who introduced you to scuba diving; it's likely you even soaked up some of your instructor's passion for exploring the world beneath the water's surface.
