Without a doubt, we as humans are strongly focused on communication, and have developed many forms through which to communicate with one another. This month's feature article, "What Are You Thinking?: Underwater Communication Basics," reminds us that we need to use different ways of communicating once our heads go underwater.

When we leave the comfort and safety of our natural surroundings and venture beneath the waves, our ability to communicate becomes greatly impaired.
