‘To See What’s Out There’;
The Risky Business of Blue-water Diving
Why, you ask, would recreational sport divers plan a blue-water dive?
The simple answer: to see what’s out there. But when you go off into the blue, you just don’t know what you’ll find. Some dives will yield a whole lot of blue water and not much else. Some dives are filled with surprise encounters with bizarre creatures. One thing is for certain: Diving into the abyss is advanced diving.

Defying Gravity and Disability:
Adaptive Scuba Programs for Divers With Impairments
While we need a general term to refer to divers with impairments, the capabilities of these individuals vary greatly depending on the nature and extent of their functional loss and how they manage it. Especially in scuba, a disability does not necessarily present a handicap. For disabled persons who cannot successfully perform all skills required for certification, adaptations can be made to allow them to scuba dive with additional buddy assistance.
