Greers Ferry Lake , Arkansas

Greers Ferry Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake in north central Arkansas with 32,000 surface acres and 276 miles of shoreline. While Greers Ferry is big enough to include two towns and multiple campsites, the optimum diving area is small. It is between Eden Isle and the Greers Ferry Dam. 

Depths to: 180 feet (55 m).

Visibility: During early season from early April to late June, and in the late season from mid-September through November, visibility can exceed 35 feet (10.5 m).

Water temperature: Low to mid-60s Fahrenheit (16-19 degrees Celsius) at the surface in early season to mid- to upper 80s F (29-31 C) in the late season. At 50 feet (15 m) and deeper, mid-50s (12-13 C) in early season to upper 50s (14-15 C) in the late season.

Aquatic life: White bass, hybrid striped bass, walleye, black bass, crappie, catfish, brim, bluegill and big mouth bass.

Fees: Most day use/recreational fees are about $4 per day, which includes boat launch.

On-site amenities: Marinas , campsites.

Getting there: From Little Rock , Arkansas , drive north on U.S. Highway 65. Take the Arkansas Highway 92 exit and drive northeast to Greers Ferry.
